What `open' bug?  Ah, the open syntax, not file opening.  I had just finished
assembling the new release stuff, but I can wait and do another round.   Your
hack with just changing `history' was good enough.  I tested it out just exn-
history thing in count-graphs.  Doing the n=11 case slowed down with
    -exn-history true
from 45.99 to 73.73 so it cost about 60%.  This has got to be pretty  much  a
worst-case  senario.  Definitely a nice option to have, but I'm glad that the
default is false.
