I  found one example of the file butchery and turned if off.  This has got to
be one of the most obnoxious ideas I have ever seen in a system.

The way to turn it off is to add a line to
    ???/CVSROOT/cvswrappers
which basically turns on the -ko mode for all files added (by default).

I hope that this is ok with  you  and  you  weren't  depending  on  the  file
mangling behavior.
