Well, a 64-bit x86 instruction set (a la AMD, and I've heard rumers that
Intel may have something like this down the line) wouldn't be so bad, to
incorporate with what is there now, although those things have a lot more
registers and I suspect a "real" register allocator would be better.  A
64-bit arch a la Itanium, though, would be another story altogether.
