MLton0 -- mlton.cvs.HEAD -native true
MLton1 -- mlton.cvs.HEAD -native false
SML/NJ -- SML/NJ
compile time
benchmark MLton0 MLton1 SML/NJ
nucleic 78.50 17.61 3.46
run time
benchmark MLton0 MLton1 SML/NJ
nucleic 41.95 51.49 25.66
run time ratio
benchmark MLton1 SML/NJ
nucleic 1.23 0.61
size
benchmark MLton0 MLton1 SML/NJ
nucleic 191,002 173,166 393,200

That's with SML/NJ 110.42. The numbers on the mlton.org site (with
mlton-20020293 and SML/NJ 110.41) give a ratio of 0.4. So, there is still
something "missing" in the way we compile nucleic.
