[MLton-devel] CPU utilization

For some reason, on my desktop machine, CPU utilization of
MLton-compiled executables is about 50%.  The MLton version doesn't
see to matter -- I tried all the way back to 20010706 and got roughly
the same utilization.  Here are the times I see for barnes-hut
(4096).

However, the same executable that gets 50% on my desktop gets 100% on
my server machine.

Any ideas on why this might be, or how to find out, and how to fix it?
