I build on 7.1 and test on 7.x and 8.x.  I have the .iso's for 9 but
haven't gotten around to installing it.

I don't know.  This is a header file that others will include in their
C code.  I guess that makes the safest thing to include no typedefs.
They can always #include "types.h" if they want to.
