Ray, are you interested in tackling Matthew's suggested approach to
implement PackWord16 support within MLton? It looks like a nice
generalization of what's there, and shouldn't be too hard. We'd be
happy to answer questions. Perhaps these will help jump start some
wiki hacker guide documentation as well.
If not, one of {Matthew,Stephen} should go ahead and put it in.
