This is really excellent. I am going to be in desparate need for an x86_64 version of MLton soon. Just out of curiosity, what Linux are you running on the AMD-64 machine, and has it been pretty bug free? Are most of the binaries in the distribution compiled to run in 64-bit mode or 32?
