I'm surprised you guys even went to the bother of
debating whether the patent should influence the
decision about submitting to ICFP.  I wouldn't
be surprised if Danvy's intention was primarily
to elicit a laugh given the absurdity of patenting
something like this; it's almost as silly as
patenting Kali, and most certainly is not
enforceable.

I agree with Henry that I'd much rather keep the
discussion going on MLton -- this way if any
interesting technical issues arise, we'd be able
to participate without having Steve and Matt 
remember to cc Henry and I.
